DYR is the weekend of April 24-26, and it's at Rockbridge Alum Springs Young Life Camp in Goshen, VA. Our theme for this year's retreat is "Stand Firm, See God" and this comes from 2 Chronicles 20:17, which says "You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.”
Our speaker this year is Julio Orozco, who is the lead pastor at Grace Community Church Church in Germantown, MD. Julio will be speaking from this passage in 2 Chronicles 20 and will be teaching our students what it looks like to truly trust God in the midst of battle.The cost this year is $180 per person attending. The deadline to register is April 1st, and there will be a $25 late fee added after the April 1st deadline. We are working now on an online registration form and should have that to you within the next few days. We will have a discount available for families with multiple students, and if this fits you, you will receive info about that when the registration form comes out.
If you aren't familiar with DYR, this is our annual weekend district youth retreat where students from all across the Mid-Atlantic District come together to worship the Lord. There will be worship sessions with incredible music and powerful teaching, and small group times for students to dive into the word and discuss the messages with their friends and leaders! You will also have plenty of free time to participate in sports tournaments and enjoy the world-class outdoor activities that Rockbridge has to offer, such as the zipline, big swing, rock wall, and (weather permitting) the pool and waterfront.
