While there are numerous reasons to serve, here are two:
#1 Simply... we are called to serve one another!
Galatians 5:13 calls us “through love to serve one another.” When you serve in the nursery it impacts the whole family. As you change, cuddle, and play with the little ones, not only are you serving them, but you are serving their parents by allowing them to fully focus on the service and God’s Word, a rare opportunity throughout the week for parents with small children.
#2 It’s a prayer ministry.
This is the next generation, our next generation of church leaders, missionaries, and disciple-makers. While you play with the children, pray for them. While you rock them, pray for their future. While you change them, pray for their parents and their families. Think if volunteers took a few moments to pray for each child while serving in the nursery, what an impact it would have in the lives of these children!
Take a minute to read our Safe Place Policy and move to our Children/Youth Form.
To serve with children or youth, there are two quick steps to get started:
1. Complete the Volunteer Form Fill out the Children/Youth Volunteer form — this is a one-time form that goes directly to Pastor Collin. He'll reach out if he has any questions.
2. Criminal Background Check A background check is required for anyone working with children or youth. These are done every 5 years and are completely free. Once you submit your volunteer form, the church office will send you an email with the next steps for the background check.
Have questions? Contact the church office — we're happy to help!
